Do you remember Bakelite?
The Brewhouse Theatre & Arts Centre
09:00 – 17:00
Please note this ride starts at 9.00am from The Brewhouse Theatre to allow for two stops. This will be a ride of around 45 miles and there will be quite a few short hills on the way out, as we skirt the edge of the Quantock Hills on our ride to Williton and the Bakelite Museum. We should arrive late morning to enjoy a well-earned tea or coffee and cake in their Tearoom. Refreshed, we can look around the museum (cost £5) and marvel at the pre-plastic items of yesteryear. From here, we will ride a distance of around 3 miles to Torres Cider Farm for lunch, and possibly some cider! I aim to leave by 2.30pm. The return journey will be via Monksilver and the B3188, a much larger road than those during the morning, but with light traffic and less hills, although some are longer drags. Our route will pass through Fitzhead and Halse, aiming to arrive in Taunton at around 5.00pm. Leader: Ian Please register using the ticketing system, though if you realy can't work it please email Ian USING THIS LINK

Tour de Ilminstre: The crowds will be out in force to see us pass (Immaculate riding, stylish dress sense etc) on Tuesday...maybe! This is a slightly longer ride, 25 - 30 miles, to the Arts Centre at Ilminster, up the hill at Stoke St Mary and returning via Curry Mallet and 13 bends. It should be a little cooler but bring your drinks and snacks as usual. Ride leader: Paul
