Pitney Potter: A fairly easy (Approx 35 miles) ride out through Creech, 13 Bends, North Curry, Stoke St Gregory, Langport and up to Pitney for a coffee. On return, Wearne, Aller, Othery, Burrowbridge, Athelney and home. The weather does not look promising but we'll do our best. Spare tubes, drinks, waterpoofs and an optimistic approach will help! Tour De Barrington: This a 32 mile anti-clockwise route to Barrington and Back. Out through Shoreditch, Staple Fitzpaine, Broadway, Horton, Stocklinch and stopping at Barrington Court for coffee. On return through Isle Abbots, Hatch Beauchamp, Stoke St Mary and home. Please bring the usual back-up and a waterproof as the weather is not encouraging (it is a Tuesday ride so will probably brighten up before then!). Ride Leader: Arthur

Back on Your Bike is a series of rides for people who are returning to cycling. The pace is gentle and we keep to quieter routes in and around Taunton.  (You should be able to ride at least 5 miles to participate. If you would like to join this group for the first time please contact  jonathan.cyclesomerset@mail.tidyhq.com) Please bring drink water, small snack and spare inner tube.  Waterproof is advisable. Warm layers and gloves if weather is cold. These rides are to support people getting back on their bikes and help people plan routes they would like to ride Ride leader Jonathan   Registering for an event: 1. login to Cycle Somerset ,  2. select event,   3. get tickets,    4. change 'Qty' from zero to one,   5. go to checkout     6. enter your mobile and emergency details    7.procede to ‘payment’ (tickets are free!)  8. CYCLE SOMERSET WILL BE ACCOMPANYING THE TANDEM RIDERS ON THE 100km route. Met. Office for Thursday predicts Temp. of 15 degrees C. and possibility of rain, dying out by the afternoon, with moderate wind. This ride will be around 40 miles mainly undulating without too many steep hills. We plan to arrive at The Dennis Pottery and Glassworks at around 12.30 for lunch at their wonderful tearoom serving homemade cakes and freshly prepared meals using local produce. The return ride to Taunton will include a stop at the North Curry community café for those needing extra sustenance before riding those last few miles home. Spare tube, drink, snack and waterproofs advised.   Ride leader Ian B

Hambridge Smoker: Out through Creech, North Curry, Stoke, Langport, Drayton for coffee at the Smokehouse; home via Hambridge, Isle Brewers, Fivehead and Helland. It is a flattish ride with a couple of bumps (35 miles). If the is weather poor a later decision to be made. Please bring a spare tube, drink and the usual to make it a comfortable ride. Congratulations to the ladies above (Pam, Tracey, Angie, Claire, Lynn and Mandy) on successfully completing the Ride the Night event in London (100K) raising money for Women v Cancer.

Ride leaders and those who may be interested in leading a ride are invited to meet at the HUB BOX coffee shop (opposite Debenhams) to discuss how rides can be best organised. We will be discussing the format of present rides, posting of rides on the website and ideal number of riders allowed on a ride. We are hoping to offer a varied programme and more rides. Please come along and share your thoughts. We will share all the good ideas at the monthly meeting organiser - Jonathan

Midweek Ride to “The Iron Duke”, Wellington.

The Met Office forecast is, cloudy with light winds and Temperature of 15oC, rain 10% chance. This ride will be around 25 miles mainly undulating without too many steep hills. Our route out will be via Bishops Hull, Bradford on Tone, Nynehead and Chipley, for the run down into Wellington. We should arrive at The Wetherspoons pub, “The Iron Duke” in Wellington at around 12.15pm for lunch. The return ride to Taunton will follow a route south of the M5 to the roundabout passing under the motorway and up Sawyer’s Hill to West Buckland. We will follow a route through Cutsey, Daw’s Green and Dipford to arrive in Trull, and should be back in Taunton by around 2.30pm. The usual spare inner tube, waterproofs, drink and snacks apply.
