White Post Whobble: Happy New Year to everyone! We are off for a gentle cycle to the White Post Cafe at Langford Budville, out through Nynehead and a bit of a meander before arriving for coffee. On the way back we will head for Rockwell Green and then wander back through the foothills of the Blackdowns and home (28 mile). The weather promises to be dry and even a little sunny but bring all the back up you need to support your ride. The diary is fairly blank for the coming weeks so if there is a date you favour for leading a favourite ride to your favourite coffee stop come prepared on Tuesday (or a new ride!).  Ride Leader: Paul Harper 07711 165696 or contact through What's App

HAPPY NEW YEAR. To get us back in the saddle a gentle ride to Hestercombe, not via Barbara's Hill! The rota for 2020 is blank at the moment so consult your diaries and bring along a date or two to lead us to a coffee shop of your choice. Old routes and new routes are welcome. Bring along water, a spare inner tube and check the weather for suitable layers of clothing. You can email me through the link in my name below if needed and my mobile number on the day is 07962033534.  Peter

New Year's Day ride to The World's End
The Brewhouse Theatre & Arts Centre
10:30 – 14:30
This will be a leisurely ride to blow the cobwebs away after your New Year's Eve celebrations. We will take a wiggly route out to The World's End pub arriving at around midday for lunch, to avoid the main rush. *Please let me know if you intend to drive or cycle by selecting the relevant box. The weather prediction is cloudy with highs of 7 Centigrade, so remember warm clothing, spare tube and drink. We should arrive back in Taunton before 3pm so lights are not necessary unless you are travelling onwards. Ride leader - Arthur 07860 362794 or alhulls@gmail.com

Come on let's Turkey Trot: This is a chance to stretch the legs and shake off some of that Christmas torpor. We are heading out through Stoke St Mary, down the drove to Broadway where we will stop for coffee and a cake at Monk's Yard. On return we head for Ilton, Isle Abbots, Curry Mallet, Rock Hill, Helland, North Curry and home. The weather looks a little variable so the usual advice about clothing, tubes, drinks etc, apply. The motto for the day is, "No giblets, no glory!"                                                                                                                      Ride Leader: Paul Harper

We are approaching the shortest day of the year, so this will be a shortish ride of around 15 miles to The Willowbrook Nursery Tearoom near Wellington. Weather is predicted as cloudy with possibility of showers and temp. high of 11 degrees C. The route will be mainly undulating so should not be too challenging. The route out will be via Bradford-on-Tone, East Nynehead and Ham. We return via West Buckland, Dipford, Trull and should arrive in Taunton at around 2pm. Remember to bring waterproofs, warm clothing, spare tube, drink and a snack (just in case the cream tea is not enough). Ride leader Ian B. ianbright91@outlook.com (07715286084)

Daisy Dawdle: This is a twenty five mile reverse, circular, ride to The Daisy at Bishops Lydeard. The weather suggests it will be better than it has been recently but we wont take any chances this close to Christmas. We head out through Bishops Hull, Hillfarance, Oak, Halse, Ash Priors, Combe Florey and wriggle through to the cafe for our stop. On return we come back through Kingston and Nailsbourne and return to The Weir. Fairly flat and easy rolling. All the usual guidance about weatherp-proof gear, liquids and tubes. Ride Leader: Paul

A second attempt for the Caroloke. Again depending on the weather we can make the ride shorter or longer but aiming for coffee at The Hive, Trull. As well as wearing plenty of appropriate clothes for the cold and a possible shower, water and spare inner tube, don't forget to bring along at least one verse of your favourite carol or Christmas song. Barbara B has been in reheasals for two weeks now so should be able to accompany all choices. Any problems and you can contact me by email through the link in my name below. My phone number, for future reference whilst on a ride, is 07962033534. Peter

Polling Day Potter: It is a rule, you cannot ride a bicycle into a Polling Station but you can ride to Middlezoy on Thursday and share your inclination with friends as you enjoy a coffee and a snack! This is a twenty-five mile circular ride heading out through Creech St Michael, North Curry, Burrowbridge and a stop at The Levels Cafe (Middlezoy Spa). On return we head for Huntworth, North Petherton, North Newton, Creech and home. At the moment the weather is looking better for some voters than others (If we need to we'll make a decision on the day), so come prepared for all eventualities! Ride Leader: Mandy

Having consulted a variety of weather apps and due to their forecast for heavy rain and strong winds I am sadly cancelling this Tuesday's ride. I don't want to risk spoiling anyone's Christmas with a fall and accident. Fingers crossed we can fit one in next week before Christmas. Should the weather improve and you feel adventurous the Weir group may be venturing out. Any issues and you can email me through the link in my name below. Peter
