Man the Lifeboats - Minehead with tour of RNLI lifeboat station.
Taunton Brewhouse
09:15 – 18:00
A long challenging ride for the super fit, e-bikes or anyone who rode the C2C in May should manage this. We can factor in a short coffee stop at The Rocking Horse Stogumber, have lunch at The Old Ship Aground on Minehead Quay. We will have a guided tour around the lifeboat station and equipment by Dr John Higgie Minehead RNLI operations manger and medical officer at 14.00. The route includes some significant ascents and riding along the A39 where there is a narrow cycle path. I would expect to be back in Taunton by 18.00 at the latest.

Avalon Visitor Centre - via Sedgemoor Drain
Taunton
10:15 – 17:00
A generally flat route with some undulations along the Poldens plus moderate hills between Glastonbury to Somerton. Coffee/ light lunch stop at the Avalon Visitor Centre and a further 'bench & banana' break at Somerton. Meeting up at the North side of the Swing Bridge but note that it is closed so do not try the usual South canal path approach from Taunton. This is a long ride ie around 6 hours in saddle, so you need to be reasonably bike fit or use an Ebike.
