Leisurely ride to Watchet with breaks en route at Bicknoller, lunch at Watchet Harbour and a break at Halse on return. About 47 miles & 825m ascent, hilly but nothing we haven't done before. I did it 3 years ago but cheated and caught the train back.
FINAL DETAILS: Route out via Nailsbourne, bypassing Bishops Lydeard about 10 - 10:15, Crowcombe Heathfield, Heddon Oak, Bicknoller, Doniford & Watchet Harbour. Returning past St Decumans, Monksilver, Tolland, Halse & Oake.
NOTE: Overgrown hedges and dirt on some narrow some lanes. Reflective jackets and/or lights recommended. Bring usual spare tube and water.
Refreshment stops are few and far between. I have arranged with the following pubs to cater for us. Please let me know your requirements on so I can pre-order.
11:30 morning coffee & scone / cake break at Bicknoller Inn. Cost about £5.
15:30 afternoon tea & scone break at The New Inn Halse. Cost about £3.50.
